Practices of US retailers-Amazon releases new policies
On April 2, 2024, Amazon US updated its dietary supplement seller policy, requiring dietary supplement products to be verified by third-party certification agencies. The purpose is to force laboratories to provide test data and analysis certificates directly to Amazon to strengthen product safety and quality assurance. Compliance with the new policy is critical for sellers to ensure that their products can be sold on the Amazon platform.
Amazon's previous policy required sellers to submit certificates of analysis (CoAs) issued by ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratories, or prove that they have participated in independent quality certification programs. However, under the new policy, Amazon will no longer directly accept CoAs submitted by sellers.
